What Are All-on-4 Dental Implants?

All-on-4 full arch dental implants use four implants to support an entire arch of teeth, with two sitting vertically at the front of the jaw and two angled toward the back. This placement makes the most of available bone and often means bone grafting isn’t needed.

The prosthesis is fixed and doesn’t rely on adhesive, with a temporary restoration usually placed on the day of surgery and the permanent set fitted after a healing period of a few months.

How long do All-on-4 implants last?

With regular care and check-ups, the implants can last many years. The prosthesis may need attention over time, depending on wear.

Is the procedure painful?

Surgery is done under local anaesthesia. Swelling and some discomfort for a few days afterwards is normal and manageable with prescribed pain relief.

How long does the full treatment take?

From consultation to final restoration, the treatment typically takes four to eight months. You’ll have a temporary set of teeth in place during that time.

What's the difference between All-on-4 and dentures?

Dentures sit on the gum and can shift around. All-on-4 is anchored into the jawbone. It’s fixed, stable, and helps preserve bone that dentures don’t.
