What is the CDBS?
The CDBS offers eligible children access to up to $1,132 in dental benefits over two consecutive calendar years. This funding covers a range of basic dental services, ensuring that your child’s oral health is well-maintained.
Who is Eligible?:
Your child may be eligible for the CDBS if they:
- Are aged 2 to 17 years.
- Are eligible for Medicare.
- Are part of a family receiving certain Australian Government payments, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A.
Eligibility is assessed annually, and if your child qualifies, you’ll receive a letter or notification through your myGov account.
What Services Are Covered?:
The CDBS covers a variety of general dental services, including:
- Check-ups and exams
- Cleanings and fluoride treatments
- Fillings and restorations
- X-rays
- Fissure sealing
- Extractions
- Root canals (if clinically necessary)
Please note that the CDBS does not cover:
- Orthodontics
- Cosmetic dental services
- Dental services provided under general anaesthesia

Ensure your child is eligible by logging into your myGov account linked to Medicare.
Bring Your Medicare Card:
Please bring your child’s Medicare card to each appointment.
Book an Appointment:

We will directly bill Medicare for eligible services, so you won’t incur any out-of-pocket expenses.
