Emergency Dentist in Melbourne

Unfortunately, a toothache doesn’t care that it’s Sunday. Neither does an abscess, a knocked-out tooth, or a broken crown. MODA Dental in Malvern East is open 7 days and available after hours for patients who need to be seen urgently.

Contact us today to schedule a same-day emergency dental appointment for your dental issues that need to be taken care of as soon as possible.

What if I'm not sure whether it's an emergency?

Reach out to us. We can talk through your symptoms and get you in the same day if needed. Lost fillings or crowns, for example, aren’t always urgent, but if there’s pain or sensitivity involved, it’s better to be seen quickly before the situation worsens.

Is pain or swelling always a sign of something serious?

Not always, but it’s worth getting assessed rather than waiting it out. Persistent or worsening tooth pain, swelling in the jaw or face, fever, or a bad taste in the mouth can all indicate an infection or abscess that can spread if left untreated.

After-Hours Dentist Serving Melbourne’s Inner South-East

We serve patients across Malvern East and surrounding suburbs in Melbourne’s inner south-east, including Carnegie, Murrumbeena and Glen Iris.

If you need a root canal, a wisdom tooth assessment, or urgent treatment for a damaged tooth, we’ll work to see you the same day.

For non-urgent concerns that still need attention, our team can also advise on cosmetic dental treatments once the immediate issue is resolved.

FAQs

Can I come in on the weekend?

Yes. MODA Dental is open 7 days a week. Call us or book online and we’ll find the earliest available appointment. We are open:

  • Monday to Friday: 8am – 8pm
  • Saturday to Sunday: 9am – 5pm

Do you offer after-hours emergency appointments?

Yes, we do. Call us on (03) 9989 8258 to discuss availability.

How much does emergency dental treatment cost?

This depends on what treatment is required. We’ll assess your situation first and provide a clear cost breakdown before any treatment begins. Private health insurance with general or major dental cover may apply.

What if my dental emergency needs specialist treatment?

Some emergencies may require specialist referral. Our team will advise you honestly and refer you promptly if needed.

What should I do if I knock out a tooth?

  • Pick it up by the crown, not the root, and avoid touching the root surface
  • Rinse it gently under water without scrubbing
  • Try to place it back in the socket and bite down gently on a clean cloth to hold it in place (if that’s not possible, keep it in milk or between your cheek and gum to keep it moist)
  • Get to a dentist as quickly as you can (ideally within a couple of hours)

This advice is for permanent adult teeth only; do not attempt to re-plant a baby tooth.
